If you told someone you love God, would they be tempted to tell you that you might want to notify your face? So often our expression doesn't really "say" what we're supposed to communicate to the world. Sometimes the expression on our face says, "I don't have time for you." Or, "I don't care what you're going through."
I was so proud of Tim Tebow last week at the National Championship Game for wearing John 3:16 on his face. I hope everyone will read something similar on my face this week. I hope my face will say, Hey God loves you! This week, lets wear our worship on our faces!
Amazing that you posted this, today I preached a message titled THE HEART OF WORSHIP. I asked the church if they offered HEART-WORSHIP. I suppose we're hearing the same thing from God, just a slightly differant flavor.
ReplyDeleteI sure do miss you guys, but God is doing some awesome things here, and I wouldn't trade it for anything. We feel SO much at home, and the church is responding so well to our ministry. New families already in church, and even old friends from Crossroads who moved away a couple of years ago are now attending our church. God is SO good.
i saw Tim wear Phil. 4:13 at the sec championship, and i thought it was so cool when he chose John 3:16 for the national championship!
ReplyDeletei love the way you capture the essence of this gesture by challenging us with "I hope my face will say, Hey God loves you!"
enjoying the blog!
That's some good thoughts. Keep 'em coming. : )
