The Most Talented of the Least Talented

So this is what it comes down to in season nine of American Idol: Lee Dewyze and Crystal Bowersox battle it out next week for the title. They definitely are the most talented of the contestants this year in my opinion. The problem is, it wasn't a very talented group this season! When I think about the thousands that auditioned I think, "Really? These are the best singers in America?" But I know that's not the case. My good friend Timmy Gautreaux auditioned a couple of years ago and didn't even get to sing for the judges and I promise you Timmy could sing anybody in the competition under the table! We've got singers that perform at Crossroads each week that are far more talented than this group. I'm not saying that to boast or to criticize, it's just a fact.

But at the end of the day, despite the awkward moments that Ryan and Ellen served up (Who knew those two could make Paula seem normal?) it was a fairly entertaining season. With Cowell out of the mix next year I don't know if I'll even bother watching.

As far as Dewyze and Bowersox go, I think I'll root for Bowersox. I like her mic stand!

  1. I totally agree about the singers this year. They were kind of Blaaah! But, I have to go with Lee... He has won my heart these past couple of weeks. On the other hand, Crystal can sure rock! I am very satisfied with the final two! :)

  2. I wish Crystal did not have the Huge Tatoo on her back! I think it hurts her in the long run but she has the most talent I would say but Lee is Awesome too! They will both walk with recording contracts! Look at Daughtry! I said he should of won and he finished forth! It was an Alright season let's see how it is without simon next season!

  3. I have come to realize that the old saying "all good things must come to an end" is very true. I think that if you do something over and over and over it looses its awesomeness! I think they should have stopped two years ago. Part of the enjoyment is the newness of something.. after the world and the media have milked it to death..how could we enjoy it. I think that talented people realized sometime ago that AI is no longer the launghing pad it once was. Then again maybe they have seen the really talented ones that have fallen to the waist side already. Very few people really make it big, and even a few "idols" have fallen. I totally agree that this seasons talent lacked a certain "quality". I am certain that we have people in our church (Crossroads) that are way more talented than these. I think that with out Simon there is not AI. Just my opinions! LOL
